Home ownership beyond your reach?

Our range of home ownership options could be right for you!  Click on the links to the right for further information about a range of initiatives to help you get your foot on the property ladder.

Shared Ownership

Allows households on modest incomes to get a ‘foot on the property ladder’ by purchasing a 25% or 50% or 75% share in a property.  An ‘occupancy charge’ is made to cover the remaining share of the property.

Shared Equity Schemes

The Scottish Government has opened up access to the following shared equity schemes for people aged 60 and over without the requirement for a mortgage.

New Supply Shared Equity (NSSE) scheme

Although there are no further NSSE schemes planned, vacancies arising through re-sales are advertised.  NSSE properties are allocated based on criteria agreed with the local authority, the Scottish Government and the Association.

Open Market Shared Equity (OMSE) scheme

OMSE helps applicants on a limited income to part fund the price of a property on the open market. The scheme is managed by Link Housing.

Help to Buy (Scotland) Scheme

Helps first-time buyers and current owners purchase a new build home through a shared equity agreement.
