Work Underway on New Affordable Homes for Aberdeen in Major £7.8m Development
Grampian Housing Association, in partnership with Malcolm Allan Housebuilders, will deliver 30 energy-efficient houses for social rent, a mix of 20 three and 10 four bedroom homes. This includes several wheelchair accessible homes with dedicated parking.
With a wide range of homes to suit varying needs, the development will help meet high demand for affordable housing for families in this popular community, given its proximity to the city centre.
The major £7.8m development is being funded by a grant of £4.8m from the Scottish Government’s affordable housing supply programme alongside Grampian’s existing facilities with RBS. This investment demonstrates continued commitment to delivering high quality affordable homes and supporting sustainable communities across the North East of Scotland. It is supported by Aberdeen City Council.
As well as increasing housing supply, investment in good quality, energy-efficient homes plays an important role in tackling wider challenges such as child poverty, fuel poverty, health inequalities and access to opportunity. Secure, affordable housing helps people to stay in work, support their families and contribute to their local communities.
