New Group Chief Executive for Grampian Housing Association announced

Grampian Housing Association has announced the appointment of David Fisher as its new group chief executive.

He succeeds Craig Stirrat, who retires later this year after four years leading the organisation.

David Fisher will join Grampian in August 2026 following a robust and competitive recruitment process. The Board's recruitment panel was impressed by his wealth of experience, strategic leadership credentials and strong commitment to customer-focused housing services.

New GHA CEOA highly respected housing professional, David Fisher brings more than 25 years' experience from leadership roles across Scotland, England and Australia, including more than 15 years as a chief executive. Most recently, he served as chief executive officer of Housing Choices Australia, one of Australia's largest national housing providers, overseeing 8,000 homes, assets exceeding £750 million and ambitious growth programmes designed to expand affordable housing supply.

Before this he led Housing Plus, an Australian regional housing, homelessness and community services organisation and Equity Housing Group in England.

Speaking about his appointment, David Fisher said: "I am delighted to be joining Grampian Housing Association and would like to thank the Board for the confidence they have placed in me.

Announcing the appointment, Grampian Housing Association chair Jim Cargill said:

Jim Cargill also paid tribute to outgoing chief executive officer Craig Stirrat, whose leadership has helped strengthen Grampian's position as one of Scotland's leading housing associations.

"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Craig for his outstanding commitment and leadership. He leaves Grampian in a strong position and we wish him every happiness in his retirement."

Craig Stirrat will remain with Grampian until September 2026 to support a smooth transition of leadership.
